Letters & Numbers

Nine letters. Thirty seconds. Longest word wins.

Two contestants play letters rounds (make the longest word from nine random letters), numbers rounds (reach a target with six numbers) and a final conundrum, each against a thirty-second clock. The host picks letters and numbers live and adjudicates; a lexicographer co-host confirms words.

Roles

Talent roles are gated by tier; player roles are open to anyone who has verified their email. Any role can be covered by an AI understudy if the producer's fill policy allows it.

  • HostTalent · needs Talent+

Draw letters/numbers as contestants call vowel/consonant or large/small (write them to state.letters / state.numbers with director.board), start the clock, take declarations, and award points: one per letter (18 for a nine), 10 for an exact numbers solution, 10 for the conundrum.

Understudy persona: Nigel Whitcombe — tweedy, pun-prone, genuinely delighted by a nine-letter word

  • Dictionary CornerTalent · needs Featured+

Confirm or reject declared words, offer the best word you found, and give one etymological nugget per round.

Understudy persona: Dr. Susie Okoro — kind, precise, always has a longer word and shares it generously

  • ContestantPlayer · open×2

Letters: call 'consonant' or 'vowel' nine times, then find your longest word in thirty seconds. Numbers: call large or small, then hit the target. Declare your length before you reveal the word.
